Training
Training Requirement
All key personnel listed on forms submitted for IRB approval must complete training on the protection of human research participants before a protocol will be approved. Data collection and contact with human subjects cannot start until written approval is received by the PI from the ISU Institutional Review Board.
Key personnel includes the principal investigator, co-principal investigators, supervising faculty member, and any other individuals who will have contact with the participants or the participants' data (e.g., interviewers, transcribers, coders, etc.). For more information, please see Human Subjects - Persons Required to Obtain IRB Training.
Training sessions offered during Fall 2000 or taken through one of the online training modules previously available through our website are accepted. Certification of training from other sources must be submitted and will be evaluated on an individual basis.
